Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with disruption to water supplies, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in delivering defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were laboring to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A young boy lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The attacks succeed nights of bombing campaigns in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to demolish the country's energy grid, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
